If you think food is not for playing with, we're about to teach you something new. Discover the best games to play with cheese and try some out for yourself!

Cheese Roulette

There are heaps of variations of this classic French gambling game, which you can read. We know our favorite though, and that's definitely cheese roulette. There are a number of ways to play, with delicious results guaranteed every time. Simply place different pieces of cheese on the numbers of the roulette wheel. Then spin the wheel and see where the ball lands to find out which kind of cheese you've won!

We love this unusual way of playing roulette. You'll get to try lots of different types of this tasty treat while having fun at the same time. It's the perfect way to liven up any party, and the stakes are much friendlier than playing with money. In fact, you could play card games or any kind of wagering game for cheese too.

Fondue Games

This Swiss dish can always be relied on to be both playful and delicious. The act of dipping your bread into a gently bubbling 'caquelon' of cheese makes this the perfect social meal for a dinner party or a celebration. Be careful though, because if you drop your bread into the pot, you could be penalized!

Fondue punishments have become as mythologized as the dish itself, and there are plenty to choose from. Some are hardly punishments at all, for instance singing a song. Others are little saucier, such as offering up a kiss or removing an item of clothing. In colder climates, bread droppers are made to run out into the snow with no clothes on at all! If these are all too awkward, buying a round of drinks is universally popular choice.

You'll discover a delectable prize if you and your friends manage to dip your way to the bottom of the pot. Why not play a game to decide who gets to consume 'la religieuse', the mouthwatering layer of gently toasted cheese at the end of the fondue?

Cheese Rolling

For 364 days of the year, Cooper's Hill in Gloucester, England is a sleepy little village. Not many would suspect that this rural hamlet is home to one of the world's most famous, bizarre and dangerous competitions. The Cooper's Hill Cheese-Rolling and Wake is an annual event in which a three to four kilogram truckle of Double Gloucester is rolled down a steep hill for 200 yards.

Participants must chase their cheese down the hill and try to catch it. The first successful cheese-catcher over the finish line is declared the winner and awarded the cheese! The race attracts cheese enthusiasts and eager participants from around the world, despite the high risk of injury. While we don't advise replicating this hazardous cheese-rolling event yourself, you could still race some wheels of cheese, minus the chasing!
