Introduced in the late 1980's, Jarlsberg Lite is a low-fat variety cheese of Jarlsberg. With the characteristic large, round holes, this sliceable cheese can be easily cut by a cheese slicer. Made from pasteurised cow's milk, it offers mild, slightly sweet and nutty taste. It is semi-soft in consistency and melts readily without lumps or stringiness. It is sold only is a rind less variety. Though it offers the delicious taste for cheese boards or in salads, it is not suitable for cooking purposes.
