One of the famous cheeses from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Made from cow’s milk, Livno is produced in the town Livno, which is located in western Bosnia and Herzegovina. The production of this cheese was first started in the 19th century in the area of Livno. The maturation process is carried out in a controlled environment and after an average of 60 to 66 days, it becomes ready to eat. It offers a full and pleasant flavour but as it ages, it becomes slightly piquant in taste. The producers such as Mljekara Livno or Lura Dairy d.o.o. Livno largely produces this cheese in the town Livno.
