The history of Strachitunt cheese goes back in the late 1800's when it was enjoyed in Valtaleggio region of Italy until World War II. Made from unpasteurised cow's milk, Strachitunt is a unique aromatic blue type cheese from the Lombardy region of Italy. It is manufactured with both morning and evening milk, in small batches and strictly with the traditional methods. Maturation process is carried out in rustic conditions so that the cheese should get its natural blue, gray and green molds. When matured, it comes out with a nice appearance and offers sweet, tangy flavour with a distinct aroma. It tastes sweet and sour with a sip of Sauternes.
