Produced in the Haut Provence region of France, Tetoun is a soft cheese in the shape of a fig. Comes with a grayish white edible rind and a strong goaty flavour that is enhanced by pepper added to its basic flavour. Maturity varies from 1-8 weeks. On the occasion of St. Agatha day (15th February), all women, of the Alpes region (Haut Provence), gather together and enjoy a feast. On this day, Tetoun is eaten as a festive authentic food. Usually adored with Cassi white wine on the cheese trays.
