How Long Can Ricotta Cheese Sit Out?

Ricotta cheese, like other dairy products, should not be left out at room temperature for an extended period.

Generally, it is recommended that ricotta be refrigerated promptly after use. Leaving ricotta  at room temperature for more than two hours increases the risk of bacterial growth and potential contamination. To ensure food safety, it is important to store ricotta cheese in the refrigerator at or below 40°F (4°C).
