Ingredients
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts | |
2 tablespoons olive oil | |
1 teaspoon dried oregano | |
1 teaspoon dried thyme | |
100g Provolone cheese | |
120ml chicken broth | |
2 garlic cloves, minced | |
fresh parsley for garnish (optional) | |
Salt and pepper, to taste |
Method
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, oregano, and thyme.
- In an oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Sear the chicken breasts for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Pour in chicken broth, scraping the bottom to deglaze.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, and top each breast with provolone cheese slices.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
