500g ground beef | |
1 1⁄2 cup breadcrumbs | |
1 1⁄4 cup milk | |
1 egg | |
1 onion, finely chopped | |
1 clove garlic, minced | |
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce | |
1 teaspoon dried oregano | |
100g Pepper Jack cheese, cubed | |
Salt and ground black pepper, to taste | |
2 tablespoons ketchup | |
1 tablespoon brown sugar | |
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard or white vinegar | |
For the glaze | |
2 tablespoons ketchup | |
1 tablespoons brown sugar | |
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard or white vinegar | |
Salt and ground black pepper, to taste |
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Mix the ingredients until well combined, but avoid overmixing to keep the meatloaf tender.
- Place half of the meat mixture into a greased loaf pan, then evenly distribute the cubed Pepper Jack cheese over the meat.
- Cover the cheese with the remaining meat mixture, shaping it into a loaf form.
- In a small bowl, mix ketchup, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard to create the glaze. Spread it over the meatloaf.
- Bake for 45 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 75°C (165°F).
- Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
- Serve slices with your favourite sides and enjoy the cheesy goodness!
