Frinault cheese is named after its inventor 'Eugene Frinault'. He was the one who produced this cheese for the first time in the neighborhood of Orleans, France.

Frinault is made from cow's milk. Off-white in colour, the cheese has soft texture and slightly strong spicy flavour. It is kept in wood ash during its aging period and hence it develops a natural rind that is covered with ash.

Frinault is often hard to find as it is produced in smaller quantities.
